Early Years:

Blanchard, Oklahoma, was established in 1907, the same year Oklahoma became a state. The town was named after A.E. Blanchard, a prominent figure in the early development of the area who worked with the Chickasaw Townsite and Development Company. Blanchard began as a small settlement along the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway. In the early days, most people in Blanchard worked on farms, growing wheat and cotton or raising cattle. When the railroad came through town, it made a stop here to take on water, which helped the town grow. By the 1930s, Blanchard had become a small but busy town.

Present Day:

Over the last few decades, Blanchard has evolved from a predominantly farming town into a growing suburb. Once known as a quiet bedroom community, it is now a lively part of the Tri-City Area. Many families move here for the top-rated schools. Our welcoming atmosphere and small-town feel make the commute worthwhile for many of our citizens who commute outside of Blanchard for work.
